Yes. Malta provides a clear legal basis for limited companies and one of the lowest effective corporate tax rates in the EU. The key requirement for tax recognition is genuine economic substance on the ground.
A registered address is mandatory. A local director is not strictly required, but can be useful for meeting substance requirements.
Yes. Additional documentation such as certified passport copies or apostilles may be needed. We coordinate the entire process for you.
Absolutely. Our service package covers accounting, tax advisory, and annual compliance support - so you have got everything in one place rather than juggling multiple providers.
Particularly for holding structures within the EU. We advise on tax advantages, dividend strategies, and exit scenarios.
Economic substance means real business activity in Malta - an office, staff, contracts, or local value creation. Without substance, the tax status of your company is at risk.
The main change is a reform: from 1 January 2027, Malta merges its residence programmes into the Individual Tax Programme Rules 2026. Until then, UK and other non-EU nationals can use the Global Residence Programme, and EU, EEA and Swiss nationals the Residence Programme: foreign income remitted to Malta is taxed at 15%, with a minimum annual tax of €15,000. For applications made from 2027 the minimum rises to €35,000; anyone who applies by 31 December 2026 keeps the current conditions until the end of 2031. Income arising in Malta itself is taxed at the normal rates. The FITWI regime introduced in 2025 (Final Income Tax Without Imputation, Legal Notice 188/2025) is not for individuals: it lets companies opt for a final 15% corporate tax instead of the refund system, with a five-year lock-in.
